KSJS Radio – Dennis Teary

As part of a feature that the Spartan Daily published about its beloved student radio station KSJS, I produced this brief multimedia piece about the station’s longest running on-air personality, Dennis Teary.  Since 1976 Teary has been hosting the Friday oldies show “Friday Flashbacks” but completely by touch – Teary is blind.  After spending a few hours with him in the studio during one of his show I can tell you he has no trouble navigating the dials and joyfully conducts his show without a hitch.

During a tour of the facilities earlier in the week, a fellow DJ commented to me that “I mess up all the time and I can see.  [Teary] doesn’t skip a beat…he flawlessly navigates the board.”
